A Symbolic Route for the NYC SEAL Swim
The NYC SEAL Swim is the official veteran-led New York City SEAL Swim, taking place August 15, 2026, in the Hudson River and New York Harbor. One of the most powerful parts of the event is its route, which connects swimmers to some of the most meaningful landmarks in America.
The NYC SEAL Swim route reflects service, freedom, sacrifice, resilience, and national identity.
Liberty State Park
Liberty State Park plays an important role in the NYC SEAL Swim experience. Located along the waterfront, it offers a powerful view of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty, and the surrounding landmarks that help define the event.
For swimmers, families, volunteers, and supporters, Liberty State Park serves as a meaningful gathering point connected to the larger mission.
Hudson River
The Hudson River is central to the NYC SEAL Swim route. The phrase Hudson River SEAL Swim captures both the physical challenge and the symbolic setting of the event.
Open-water swimming in the Hudson River requires preparation, respect for conditions, and careful safety coordination. It also gives the event a distinctive identity tied directly to New York City.
New York Harbor
New York Harbor adds national visibility and emotional weight to the event. As swimmers move through this historic setting, they are surrounded by landmarks connected to freedom, immigration, service, and American identity.
For the NYC SEAL Swim, the harbor is more than a location. It is part of the story.
Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. Its connection to the NYC SEAL Swim reinforces the event’s themes of freedom, sacrifice, and service.
For Navy SEALs, veterans, first responders, Gold Star families, and patriotic supporters, swimming near this landmark adds meaning to every mile.
Ellis Island
Ellis Island represents legacy, courage, and the American journey. Its presence along the broader event landscape gives the NYC SEAL Swim a deeper connection to family, history, and national purpose.
The route helps remind participants that the swim is not only physical. It is symbolic.
