About the NYC SEAL Swim 2026

A Veteran-Led Hudson River Swim Honoring Service, Sacrifice, and American Unity

The NYC SEAL Swim 2026 is more than an open-water swim. It is a powerful veteran-led movement built on courage, remembrance, brotherhood, resilience, and patriotism.

Taking place on August 15, 2026, the NYC SEAL Swim brings together former Navy SEALs, veterans, police officers, firefighters, first responders, athletes, supporters, and patriotic Americans from across the country for an unforgettable day of purpose in New York Harbor.

Sponsored by Beyond the Brotherhood, this national event honors those who have served, those who continue to serve, and the families who carry the weight of sacrifice every day.

The swim is designed to send a positive patriotic message of unity while raising awareness and support for the veteran and first responder community.

What Is the NYC SEAL Swim?

The New York City SEAL Swim is a multi-sport, open-water endurance event held in the Hudson River and New York Harbor area. The event combines swimming, running with American flags, honor pushups, pull-ups, remembrance, and community participation.

This is not just a race. It is a mission.

Every part of the swim is symbolic. Every location carries meaning. Every movement honors service, sacrifice, freedom, and the American spirit.

The NYC SEAL Swim begins at the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State Park, New Jersey, a deeply meaningful location honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001. From there, swimmers and supporters move through a powerful patriotic course that includes views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the New York City skyline.

The Mission Behind the Swim

The mission of the NYC SEAL Swim is to honor fallen heroes, support veterans and first responders, and create a visible message of national unity.

The event recognizes:

  • Veterans who have served our nation with courage.
  • Navy SEALs and special operations warriors who continue to lead through service.
  • First responders, police officers, and firefighters who protect our communities every day.
  • Gold Star families who carry the legacy of sacrifice.
  • Americans who believe in freedom, unity, service, and resilience.

The NYC SEAL Swim stands as a reminder that brotherhood does not end when service ends. It continues through community, leadership, healing, and action.

Supporting Beyond the Brotherhood

The NYC SEAL Swim proudly supports Beyond the Brotherhood, an organization dedicated to helping Navy SEALs and veterans continue to lead after service.

Beyond the Brotherhood helps bridge the gap between military service and civilian leadership by supporting veterans as they transition into new opportunities, careers, communities, and purpose-driven lives.

Through the NYC SEAL Swim, supporters, sponsors, swimmers, and volunteers have the opportunity to stand behind this mission and help expand its impact.

The 2026 NYC SEAL Swim Route

The 2026 event begins at the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State Park, NJ.

Swimmers will carry beautiful American flags as they run to the Green Field in Liberty State Park, where they will create a giant circle of American flags. Patriotic parachutists will land in the center, creating a powerful visual message of unity, service, and national pride.

After the parachutists safely land, swimmers will continue the patriotic American flag run to Flag Plaza in Liberty State Park.

From Flag Plaza, swimmers will enter the Hudson River and swim toward a Donjon Marine, Inc. barge near the Statue of Liberty. There, they will complete 100 honor pushups and 22 pull-ups in recognition of our nation’s freedoms and civil liberties.

Swimmers will then re-enter the Hudson River and continue toward a second Donjon Marine, Inc. barge near Ellis Island. At this location, they will complete another set of 100 honor pushups and 22 pull-ups to honor America’s diversity and all those who came to this country seeking freedom and opportunity.

The swim will continue back toward Liberty State Park, where swimmers will exit the Hudson River at the Empty Sky Memorial.

At the memorial, participants will complete their final set of 100 honor pushups and 22 pull-ups to honor those lost on 9/11, Extortion 17, and all Americans who have put everything on the line for our nation.

The event concludes with a final patriotic flag run to the Hyatt Regency Hotel by the Hudson in Jersey City, NJ, sending one more powerful message of unity, remembrance, and American pride.
